University of Alabama large ensembles(orchestra, band, choir) will open the hall for students to attend dress rehearsals. American History at the Westervelt-Warner Museum. The museum offers 1 hr. docent-led tours for 5th and 10th grade students in Tuscaloosa County. MURPHY AFRICAN-AMERICAN MUSEUM
The Murphy African-American Museum, located in the Murphy-Collins house at 2601 Paul Bryant Drive, offers innovative educational programs and changing exhibits that increase the knowledge of the accomplishments and contributions of local African-Americans in Tuscaloosa and the country as a whole. The structure is the only example of 20th century architecture included in the Tuscaloosa County Preservation Society properties. Admission is free, and donations are accepted. ALABAMA MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY /
MOUNDVILLE ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK

Located along the Black Warrior River in Moundville, the 320-acre Moundville Archaeological Park preserves 26 prehistoric, Mississippian-era Indian Mounds. Moundville Native American Heritage Days features Native Americans of all affiliations. The primary focus is outstanding arts and crafts, both traditional and modern. ART WITH THE EXPERTS - BRYANT MUSEUM
Nationally known sports artists will be in residence at the museum hosting a variety of activities while teaching your 4th grade class basic art concepts. Activities will include hands-on art projects, face painting and “You be the Judge,” a program that allows children to critique one of our famous paintings. Plan on being at the Museum for two hours as each class receives individual attention by the artists and staff. THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA ARBORETUM
The University of Alabama Arboretum maintains plant collections for botanical education and appreciation. It features walking trails through a native woodland section, a wildflower garden, ornamental plants, a children’s garden, and a tree platform utilized in canopy research. Field trip activities offered by the Environmental Education Program include Bats, Biodiversity, Earth Month, Flower Power, Food Chain, Habitats, Insects, Tree ID, Leaves, Seeds, Senses, Soil, and Trees.
